Let's start with a long, short and middle-sized leash modes. To make it shorter attach one snap hook to the stitched ring near the other snap hook. To make it of middle length one snap hook attach to the other stitched ring at the middle of the leash. In this case the loop creates a handle that is easy to use while walking.
